When many people think of a nudist sauna club, of sleazy sex clubs and seedy brothels. However, this does not apply to the large nudist sauna clubs that I am talking about in this article.
Rather, it is a large landscape with wellness, pool, Finnish sauna and restaurant. There is no sign of a brothel, but a relaxing wellness area where naturists and nudists can unwind in a stimulating ambience.

But first, let's look at the naturist movement , nudism and public nudity to better understand what's really behind it. At the same time, I would also like to dispel a few prejudices and clichés that one often hears in this context.

History and development of naturism (nudism)
Free body culture (nudism) – also called nude culture, naturism or nudism – refers to communal nudity, mostly in nature. The aim is to enjoy the experience of nature or being naked itself, without any direct reference to sexuality (source: Wikipedia) .
The beginnings in the 19th century
The first nudist club was founded in Essen in 1898. Around 1900, Swedish bathing became more and more popular in the Berlin area and on the North and Baltic Seas. Just a few years earlier, in many places, swimming together in public - even in contemporary, extensive swimwear - was officially forbidden or was considered immoral. The naturist movement also began in France around 1900.
Behind the naturist culture movement there was an attitude to life according to which the naked body is no reason for feelings of shame.
Naturism in the Weimar Republic and the Third Reich
After the first official nude bathing beach was created in Germany on Sylt in 1920, nude bathing outside closed club premises was generally banned again from 1931 and the nudist clubs were dissolved after 1932.
The ban on nude bathing in Germany was later relaxed again by Reich decree of July 10, 1942.
Naturism in the GDR
People in Germany undoubtedly have the most common association with naturism with the former GDR. In fact, in the GDR, nude bathing in open lakes and bodies of water such as the Baltic Sea had been widespread since the 1970s. Even at lakes where swimming was not officially permitted, people often bathed naked. There were usually nudist areas .
In most seaside resorts on the Baltic Sea there were sections of beach that were specifically designated for nudism. In general, there was a noticeably higher tolerance for public nudity in the GDR than in the Federal Republic.
Development since the 1969s
From the 1960s onwards there was a strong increase in public nudity. The nude beach near Kampen on Sylt gained particular popularity through media coverage. But the nudist beaches and facilities in Yugoslavia, France and on the Baltic Sea coast also became popular holiday destinations.
In the 1980s, nudism also found its way into major German cities. For example, the English Garden in Munich became the world's first freely accessible inner-city nude bathing area.
This was quickly followed by similar areas on Berlin lakes (Halensee bathing area) and a sharp increase in unofficial but tolerated nude bathing opportunities on numerous German lakes, beaches and rivers. Spontaneous nudity at rock concerts and festivals (Roskilde, Burning Man, Nambassa, etc.) also increased.
So much for a brief historical review of the development of naturist culture. But what is the attitude towards it today?

The Germans like to jump naked into the water or sunbathe in the dunes without any textile restrictions. We are world champions in skinny dipping – this is more than just a global cliché and has once again been confirmed by a representative study .
A study by the online travel agency Expedia.de in 2014 “Beach Report 2013” already showed: In an international comparison, we are clearly pioneers in nude bathing.
The aim of the study was to find out how popular naturism is in the individual federal states and whether anything has changed since reunification.
The bathing oases on the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Baltic Sea coast with their beautiful beaches emerged as the clear winner of the surveys. 51 percent of the residents of this state find nude bathing to be “completely natural . In addition, 17 percent “regularly or often” skinny-dipping there.

So much for the theory surrounding lived nudity. But what does this have to do with you now? And how can this help your partnership gain new momentum?
